I’m back from the cruise. Sorry I couldn’t update while I was gone but internet was expensive plus the connection wasn’t good and I couldn’t up load photos. So, I’ll just tell you about my trip now. I’ll spread it out over a few days since I have a lot of photos and a lot to tell.
I flew to Los Angeles on Saturday, April 26th and spent the night at the Beverly Hills Hilton. I was traveling with two family members including my sister and we managed to get first class tickets. We went to lunch, did some shopping and a took a drive to Hollywood at night with a late dinner with friends. The sun was shining and there were so many fancy sports cars all over town.

Shopping in Beverly Hills, I bought a pair of sunglasses.
Battaglia on Rodeo Drive – building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright
This display was in the floor! I think it was the Prada store. They kicked me out for taking pictures. 😛
We saw Grauman’s Chinese theater, the one with the foot prints and signatures of movie stars since it opened in 1927. It’s now declared a historical landmark and has undergone recent renovations.
We also walked along Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, gazing at the stars of Celebrity’s recent and older.
The next morning on the 27th of April, the cruise left out of Long Beach and headed to the Mexican Riviera. I was aboard the Carnival Pride, one of the largest megaliners that Carnival owns. 88,500 tons done in a Renaissance style decor. Naked baby’s everywhere !!! This ship was beautiful and the crew was very nice.
Carnival uses a new pier in Long Beach instead of San Pedro and in the next berth is the original Queen Mary which sailed her maiden voyage in 1936 and now used as a hotel. I wish I would have known that, I would have stayed there over night. The Queen Mary is said to be haunted and is featured frequently on the TV show Most Haunted.
I have cruised with Carnival a lot in the past and reached the Platinum status. This gave me some special perks like VIP boarding. We got right on the ship within 30 mins of arriving to the port. In time to book spa appointments and tours before everyone else. I was on the 6th floor in room 6175, I had a balcony room and was right above the life boats. Every night the room steward made the cutest little towel animals.

Towel animal, I think it’s a pig!
