A few days ago I wrote about a Beyond the Sword game I hosted. The original game had six people and an AI. We all agreed to finish the game the next week, which would be yesterday. I tried hosting the game again but two of the people had trouble joining and the game couldn’t continue. We all agreed to give up and start over. Considering that I was at war and not doing well, it sounded okay to me.

So the new game starts off well and once again I spawn near Player 1 of the first game who I now will call Hydro because thats his forum name. I played France and he was Aztec. The photo above shows my first two cities and our borders touching. Our Civs met and he refrained from declaring war until I made my 3rd city near his horses. Now, he already horses in another spot, he just didn’t want me to have these horses. So once again he declared war on me early in the game. He had a more aggressive Civ so he had a higher troop level. Needless to say, I wasn’t ready and he was easily killing my little cities.
Lucky for me, I had two friends in the game and one of them gave me a city on an Island far away before my 3rd city was killed. I was able to hide for a bit and recover enough to build again. They both gave me some techs and I became the vassal of one of them once Hydro stopped the war. I had to leave early and the game still wasn’t finished but an AI played my spot. One of the highlights of the game was convincing Caesar to go to war with him before he killed all my cities. Not sure if we’ll be able to continue this game either but I guess we’ll try.
