Meredith Michaels Beerbaum wins the FEI World Cup in Las Vegas.

Riding her beautiful horse Shutterfly, Meredith took all three wins at the World Cup. Winning three Rolex watches and one World Cup trophy. She had a perfect round of jumping with no faults on any of the courses. She and her horse Shutterfly were picture perfect and deserved every bit of recognition that they received. It was thrilling to be sitting there on the edge of my seat as the American rider, McLean Ward came into the finals with 2 fault points and he also jumped a clear round. Any errors at this point would have sent them down the list. Third went to Albert Zoer of the Netherlands who also jumped a clear round.

Over the last year, ever since the Creature Creator was released in June 2008, there has been some amazing creations created. In a quest to find the best of these 94,000,000 creations, Sporedum and Sporeprograms have teamed together to find the best creations, in the Uber Creation Conest! There are 4 categories for creations to enter: Creatures, Buildings, Vehicles and Spaceships.

And guess what! You get to decide who wins!

How will this work?

Everyone submits creations (you can only submit one of your own), and then our judges (who can’t enter) will sort through the masses of creations to decide on the best 10, then we will post them all over at sporedum and sporeprograms and then you decide on the one to win!

The judges currently include: Grimbot, Virakotxa, smallboy1995, beta_psi and techno605

Maxis has the Spore API running now and is asking for people to come test it out. They are running a contest to see what cool Apps can be made.

A reminder that the deadline to enter the Spore UGC Contest is this Friday!

Using in-game tools in Spore, or the Spore Creature Creator (trial edition and complete), Spore players can upload their most creative and entertaining 60 second movie to http://www.spike.com/group/spore/landingpage through December 5th.

A panel of judges, including Spore creator Will Wright, will then select the best video.  The winner and a guest will receive round trip airfare, 2 nights’ hotel stay, and ground transportation for the 2008 Spike Video Game Awards on Sunday, December 14th in Culver City, California.

I’m hosting my first contest.

Make a Space Ship using the Spore UFO editor that doesn’t look like a ship. It should look like something else. (Examples above) Be creative and humorous. The prize will be the Skooba bag that I decorated and had signed by the Spore Dev team when I went to Maxis for the Community Day event. It’s also signed by myself and Hdyro. The winner will also get a front page article on this blog. Entries will be taken until Oct. 21st and the winner will be decided on Oct. 31st.
